I might have been saved a lot of confusion and a lot of heartbreak had I been able to read this article in my youth. I also may have been party to far more love–being more open to receive others’ love, and feeling more at liberty to give mine. Learning to hear “I love you” without fear or anger was one of the greatest lessons of my adult life. Learning to tell those dear to me that I love them felt like an act of liberation and revolution. I am so grateful for Carsie Blanton’s wonderful exploration of being more casual with our understanding of love.
