The Bridges We Burn specializes in violence prevention education, program/curriculum development, and direct advocacy services, all in service of our mission to foster healthy identities, relationships, and communities. This includes:

Violence prevention education via presentations or workshops to individual classes, assemblies, after-school groups, etc. on topics such as:

  • Healthy Masculinities, Gender Identity, and Allyship
  • Sexual Violence 101
  • Rape Culture
  • Healthy Communities, Consent, and Cultural Sensitivity

Program and curriculum development for high schools, universities, community organizations, social service organizations, and more on topics including:

  • Ready to Act: Strategies for Bystander Intervention
  • Be Bold Not Bogus: Understanding Power, Identity, & Self-Advocacy
  • Men Challenging Patriarchy, Rape Culture, and Toxic Masculinity

Direct advocacy and support services for both practitioners and victim/survivors of sexual violence:

  • Curriculum development for support groups for adult survivors of sexual violence who identify as men
  • Training trainers or advocates for working with victim/survivors who identify as men

Research, needs assessment, and program evaluation steps, as needed, can accompany all of these services.

Founding members of The Bridges We Burn, along with our extended network of educators, advocates, activists, scholars, and community organizers want to put to work our years of experience in community education, prevention education, program and curriculum development, and research to meet your needs. Whether you are looking for an introduction presentation, intensive workshop, training for trainers, curricula for future implementation, research paper, support group, or other program, The Bridges We Burn is here for you.

With a small core team, minimal overhead, and a commitment to ending rape culture and toxic masculinity, we are dedicated to working with any budget to further our mission and goals via collaboration with like-minded organizations, or to meet the needs of communities looking to reduce violence, and build a future rooted in equity and justice. Fees for services will always take into consideration your specific needs and circumstances, and are rolling based on individual situations and means. To the greatest extent possible, we are dedicated to providing services to the public at large free of cost or by donation.
