Men’s violence against women has become such an ingrained dynamic of our culture, we often fail to see the ways in which it has become normalized and invisiblized. Everything from pop culture to the way language is constructed about domestic violence and sexual assault serves to hide men as perpetrators, placing the onus of responsibility for violence prevention on women. In this incredible and approachable TED Talk, Jackson Katz deconstructs these aspects of rape culture, and provides a primer on how men can step up to prevent sexual and domestic violence. This video is an excellent resource for beginning the conversation around violence, toxic masculinity, and engaging men.
