Masculine identities can be presented in as many ways as there are people who identify as masculine. The beauty of gender identity and presentation is that in a world free from the gender binary, in which toxic masculinity does not dictate how someone has to look or behave, individuals who identify as men or masculine, can be themselves.
A new Instagram account, @americanboysproject, seeks to showcase transmasculine individuals to challenge the notion that there is one way to be a man in the United States. The project is described as “[a] bold & intuitive project of USA’s transmasculine community by @sorayatzaman expanding the notions of binary gender roles from all across the country.”
